What to expect on your first visit
Assessment (45 minutes)
At MW Physiotherapy we start with an in depth consultation to fully address your problem. This will include taking details of your medical history and any medication you are taking.
If you are unable to get to our clinic we do offer home visits. Our physiotherapist boosts over 16 years of NHS Orthopaedic experience in rehabilitating patients that have undergone elective total hip, knee and shoulder replacements. This experience also extends to treating and rehabilitating patients after falls which may have resulted in fractures of the femur, pelvic or humerus to name a few. We understand the importance of improving your mobility, strength, confidence and independence. Our physios will offer the right treatments and encouragement to get you back on your feet again.
We assess by looking at posture and biomechanics to aid our diagnosis, in addition to this we will do a thorough movement analysis of the structures which may be causing dysfunction which could be joint, nerves, muscles, soft tissues or ligaments.
The first session will take approximately 45 minutes which will include an assessment and treatment. Further treatments will be up to 30 minutes.
Our experienced physiotherapists will use up-to-date bespoke treatments to target your problem and aid recovery to help you get back to a full and happy lifestyle.
We will also address factors that may be contributing to your pain such as posture, work place ergonomics or exercise. The physio will discuss your diagnosis and recommend the treatment which is specific to you in order to relieve your pain as quickly as possible. Some of the treatments that may be used are:
- manual therapy
- myofascial release
- postural advice/education
- exercise rehabilitation
The amount of treatments you require depends on the nature of your condition and we will advise you accordingly. We pride ourselves that our treatments are evidence and researched based to target your specific condition with the appropriate treatment.
We not only want to get you better and back to health as soon as possible but prevent further injury.
